Description | Quinta Lagoalva de Cima Grande Escolha Alfrocheiro - Red Wine
Quinta Lagoalva de Cima Grande Escolha Alfrocheiro - Red Wine is a red wine from the Tejo region, produced by Quinta da Lagoalva from the Alfrocheiro grape variety. It is a wine with a distinct profile, made exclusively in exceptional years, with grapes from small plots and harvested manually, revealing meticulous care from the vineyard to the winery.
After the harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery in the morning and undergo a pre-fermentation maceration period of 3 days. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in open stainless steel vats at 24ºC, followed by hydraulic pressing of the must. Malolactic fermentation occurs in new or one-year-old French oak barrels, where the wine ages for 10 to 12 months, gaining complexity and structure.
In the glass, it presents a garnet red color and an intense aroma, marked by notes of spices, ripe black fruit, and tobacco. On the palate, it is deep, long-lasting, and balanced, with elegant tannins that give it finesse and presence. It is an excellent choice to accompany oven-baked dishes, game, and aged cheeses. It is recommended to serve it between 16ºC and 18ºC.
