Description | Las Quebradas - Red Wine
Las Quebradas - Red Wine, from Bodegas Enrique Mendoza, is a 100% Monastrell red wine produced in Alicante, from a single plot located in Villena, in the “Las Quebradas” area, at an altitude of approximately 500 meters. Originating from very particular limestone soils, it is born from a “zero residue” philosophy, without systemic herbicides or insecticides. This is a limited-production wine, aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, conceived as a tribute to the landscape, the land, and the Mediterranean spirit of the province of Alicante.
It presents a deep red color with garnet reflections and a medium-high body. The aroma is dominated by black fruits, accompanied by balsamic hints and notes of Mediterranean herbs such as thyme, pine, and lavender. It also reveals great minerality and depth, with hints of smoke, coffee, and caramel. On the palate, it has a fresh and enveloping entry, marked by ripe black fruit. The tannins are polished, fine, and balanced, giving structure and precision to the whole. The finish is medium to long, with good volume and hints of chocolate and coffee.
It is recommended to serve at 16ºC. It is an excellent choice to accompany grilled red meats, Iberian pork tenderloin, and Mediterranean dishes.
