Description | Quinta d'Aguieira - Red Wine
Quinta d'Aguieira - Red Wine is a wine from the Bairrada region, produced by Quinta d'Aguieira, a property acquired by Aveleda in 1997. According to available information, it is made exclusively from the Touriga Nacional grape variety, sourced from vineyards located in the north of the region. The terroir is distinguished by sandy-loam soils with layers of rolled pebbles, a context that contributes to the identity and character of this wine. Vinification includes fermentation with maceration at controlled temperature, followed by 12 months of aging in new French oak barrels and an additional three years of bottle aging.
In the glass, it presents an intense garnet color and a complex aromatic profile, with notes of ripe black fruits, such as blackcurrant and wild blackberry, enveloped by hints of dark chocolate, spices, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it reveals structure, volume, and firm but fine tannins, finishing long and persistent. It is a particularly interesting choice to accompany red meats, roast lamb, wild mushroom risottos, or aged cheeses. It is recommended to serve between 16ºC and 18ºC.
