Description | Krug Grande Cuvée - Sparkling Wine
Krug Grande Cuvée - Sparkling Wine, from the KRUG house, is a Champagne of great complexity and unmistakable signature. Produced in the Champagne region from Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, it results from an exceptional blend of over 120 wines from 10 different years, originating from selected plots. In the 172nd Edition, 146 wines from 11 different years were used, from the youngest in 2016 to the oldest in 1988, with 42% reserve wines in the final blend. The composition includes 44% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier.
In the glass, it presents an intense and fine golden color, with lively and elegant bubbles. The aroma reveals notes of flowers, ripe fruit, dried fruit, marzipan, gingerbread, and citrus. On the palate, toasted notes and flavors of almond paste, quince, lemon, limoncello, and dried fruit stand out, in a broad, deep, and harmonious whole.
It is recommended to serve it between 9 and 12 ºC. It is a gastronomic sparkling wine, versatile at the table, capable of accompanying everything from aged Parmesan and turbot with truffle to ham, oysters, Indian or Moroccan cuisine. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif or with desserts such as Tarte Tatin and cheesecake.
