Description | Bassus Finca Casilla Herrera - Red Wine
Bassus Finca Casilla Herrera - Red Wine is a Valencian red wine produced by Hispano Suizas from a blend of Bobal, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The wine originates from an estate with privileged soil and climate conditions, which favor both the native Bobal grape variety and the other varieties. It ages for a minimum of 20 months in French oak barrels, a factor that contributes to its complex, elegant, and profound profile.
It presents an intense, medium-high deep red color. The aroma is dominated by notes of fruit and wood, with vanilla, hints of milk and licorice, finishing with nuances of toasted wood. On the palate, it is unctuous, ample and mature, with evident notes of red fruit, a toasted finish and a very long persistence. According to Hispano Suizas, it is the winery's most complex red wine, also distinguished as the Best Red Wine of Spain at the 2024 Verema Awards.
It should be served at 18ºC and pairs particularly well with game dishes and elaborate stews. A wine of great structure and sophistication, designed for moments at the table where intensity, balance and a long, captivating finish are sought.
