Description | Viña del Olivo Reserva - Red Wine
Viña del Olivo Reserva - Red Wine is Contino's flagship wine, produced in Rioja Alavesa from grapes grown in the Olivo plot, planted in 1980. It is a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo grapes, harvested manually and with rigorous selection. It ages for 18 months in oak barrels from France, the United States, and Hungary, resulting in a profile that combines precision, depth, and elegance.
In the glass, it presents a beautiful ruby-red color and a medium-high intensity. The aroma is dominated by intense notes of black fruits, such as blackberry and currant, enveloped by balsamic hints of anise, mint, and licorice. On the palate, it reveals itself as powerful, ample, and balanced, with lively tannins, ripe fruit, and very well-integrated oak. The mineral profile and aging potential reinforce its complexity and delicacy, making it a distinct choice for connoisseurs of structured and refined red wines.
It is recommended to serve it at 16ºC. It pairs particularly well with red meats, game stews, and sausages.
