Ornellaia - Red Wine

Ornellaia - Red Wine is a great Tuscan red wine, produced by Ornellaia from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Born from the connection between nature and the expertise of the Frescobaldi family, it expresses a unique terroir in harmony with the Mediterranean. The harvest is done manually, and each grape variety, as well as each plot, is vinified separately, allowing for a precise and careful interpretation of the final blend.

It has an intense ruby-red color. The aroma is dominated by spicy and balsamic notes, with emphasis on black pepper, sage, and aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrubland. On the palate, it is full-bodied, yet fresh and vibrant, filling the palate with a dense and elegant tannic texture. The finish is persistent and harmonious, with a sensation of great definition.

Malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels, 70% of which are new, followed by aging in the cellar for about 18 months and a further 12 months in the bottle. The result is a powerful and mysterious wine that does not immediately reveal all its facets, but captivates with its finesse, breadth and generosity. It pairs very well with game dishes, red meats, aged cheeses and sophisticated risottos.
