Description | Maçanita As Olgas - Red Wine
Maçanita As Olgas - Red Wine is a wine from the Porto and Douro region, produced by Maçanita from old vines and a traditional Douro blend. According to available information, it includes grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Donzelinho Tinto, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Carvalha and Bastardo, revealing an approach based on diversity and the expression of the terroir. The grapes are harvested manually and transported in 18 kg boxes, a careful process designed to preserve their integrity until they arrive at the winery.
In winemaking, a cold pre-maceration is mentioned, followed by pressing, and an aging process of 18 months in neutral barrels. This process contributes to a profile of great balance, where the wood emerges discreetly, without imposing itself on the aromatic purity of the wine. In the glass, it presents an elegant ruby color and a fresh nose, with the barrel subtly integrated.
On the palate, it shows present but balanced tannins, providing structure without excess. The attack is elegant, the texture is enveloping, and the finish lingers with persistence. Due to its structure and balance, it is a good choice to accompany well-seasoned red meats or game dishes, at the table on special occasions or in meals where a Douro red wine with character and finesse is desired.
